ECI 727 - Digital History and Pedagogy
I took this course during the Spring of 2011. 727 - Digital History and Pedagogy was anIn-depth study of topical problems in social studies education selected from areas of current concern to practitioners in education.
727 directly applied to my skills as a teacher and my tpack as I it forced me to become comfortable with new forms of technology and reflect on my teaching practices. These reflections allowed me to revisit my predagogical content knowledge and how I must evolve as a teacher to ensure my students are succesful in the tweny-first century.
I came to become familiar with the idea of "Pacific Instruments" and a vision for an advanced encyclopedia, the "Memex", that would facillitate inquiry based. With this instrument, students would be able to research a topic and then be able to travel down teh rabbit hole as they would be able to jump to different topics as they researched.
This course was also my first aquantice with the Lincoln Telegrams and
My term paper centered around the idea of the "Pacific Instruments" of the twenty-first century in which I was able to conclude that Wikipedia is the closest thing to the Memex.
