ECI 546 - New Literacies and Media
This was the first course of the NLGL program and was an excellent introduction for the frame of mind and mission of the degree. the course description of ECI 546 was that is a critical analysis of new literacies that are prompted by emerging technologies and participatory media in K-12. Design and application of new literacies and media instructional practices to literacy curriculum and other discipline areas.
Through this course I was introduced to numerous Web 2.0 tools and becoming familiar with these tools increased my confidence to have my students learn by using teachnology as a way for them to apply the knowledge that I am teaching.
The lasting impact of the class was that it cultivated my interest in learning about new teachonolgoy that could help facilitate my studnets learning and engage students that are typically passive learners.
