ECI 525 - Contemporary Approaches in the Teaching of Social Studies
During the Fall semester of 2011 I had the pleasure of taking ECI 525. the course cnetered around the analysis of principles, strategies and application of new teaching approaches. As a class we learned by through ten structured projects as well as in class activities that typically agumented and extended the projects.
I was able to get reaquanted with the Lincoln Telegrams and reinforce my previosu experiences with SCIM-C. There were many highlights from this semester, but what was most interesting was the challenge at being able to apply non-traditional topics to histrocial study. My favorite projects were the Maps, Historical Ephemera, and Beautiful Social Studies.
Each project contributed to my tpack as I grew as an educator and realized that there are so many resources available for teachers to integrate project based learnign into the curriculum to extend students understanding of history.
